lesWelcome to my blog. My name is Les Porter. This blog has been created so I can share my journey with you around the City of Wyndham to raise money for citizens of Wyndham that need it most. I am riding 1000 km around this magnificent city and I am calling it Wyndham 1000.

This is now the second year of this exciting event and I look forward to sharing it with you once again including new posts and information.

You are also most welcome to join me and others in this magnificent ride. Go to the Ride Bookings page to book a time for us to ride together.

Why am I doing this?

To raise funds for the Salvation Army in the City of Wyndham. 100% of the funds raised will be targeted towards helping the homeless, the disadvantaged and those at risk in our community.

How will I do this?

By riding an adult tricycle (non powered i.e. human powered) during daylight hours until 1000 kms are completed. The actual time taken will depend on:

  • Weather
  • Flat Tyres (hopefully not many)
  • Myself – I have been training since late 2009. This is not a time orientated event With my physical limitations I will complete the distance within my capabilities

When will it begin?

Wyndham 1000 commences 12pm  Saturday 29th October 2011 at Werribee Plaza.

What can you do?

If you would like to sponsor me to raise funds through this ride, send your donations to the address below and go to the Donations page to download the form:

What a great Blog, Les. Hopefully the flat tyres will be the last thing to happen. You have a wonderful christian heart, always putting the community foremost in our minds by your continual Community Service. I also wish to acknowledge your family, Les who are the strong backstop to all your many and varied volunteer roles and as the saying goes, “behind every great man is a stronger and greater woman”.
